About
The Rutgers University Workers’ Compensation Research Collection (RUWoCo), a compilation of book citations, personal resources, and published research, provides a source of information on workers’ compensation and closely related topics (such as prevention of workplace injuries and diseases and the rehabilitation of injured workers) that will be useful to scholars.
Scope
The scope of RUWoCo reflects the interests of three Rutgers University faculty members who have conducted research on such topics as the Social Security Disability Insurance program, other public or private programs that provide cash benefits, medical care, or rehabilitation services to disabled workers, occupational safety and health programs, the labor market experience of disabled workers, protective labor legislation dealing with workplace disability, and rehabilitation of disabled workers. These faculty members are:
Monroe Berkowitz was a Professor in the Economics Department at Rutgers University and served as Chair of the Department for 15 years. After he became an Emeritus Professor, he served for several years as Director of the Disability Research Program in the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) at Rutgers University.
James R. Chelius was a Professor of Human Resource Management Department in SMLR at Rutgers University and served as Chair of the Department.
John F. Burton, Jr. is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations in SMLR at Rutgers University. He served as the Dean of SMLR from 1994 to 2000.
